Brandon Makes Glasgow 2014 Baton

Brandon, the 10 year old son of Derek, one of our engineers, made an engraved aluminium baton (with a little help from his Dad) to commemorate the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

It was made from an aluminium off-cut, machined and engraved to perfection.

Scroll down to see more of Brandon making his baton...

First Brandon uses the band saw to cut the aluminium to the required length...

Next, to the lathe to machine the baton's diameter to size – ready to go, now close the door...

Now check that the sizes are to spec...

Let's design the text and images to engrave on the baton, then program it to be done using one of the CNCs...

Now design the engraving

We've got it now on the Bridgeport 4th axis CNC for engraving - ready soon...
