Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is a Scottish Government initiative created to encourage and support employers to engage with schools and colleges to recruit more young people into their workforce.

The winners of the inaugural Working4Business Awards in West Dunbartonshire were announced to over 150 guests at the ceremony held at the Clydebank Town Hall. The ceremony was a celebration of the success, diversity and innovation that can be found throughout the business community of West Dunbartonshire. Our award was accepted by our Operations Manager, Sharon Colvan, 4th from the left in the photo above. Read more here...

We have added the award to other recent recognitions relevant to our engagement with, and recruitment of, local young people:

Regional DYW teams can support businesses to work in partnership with education. This could be in the form of:

  1. Providing inspirational talks to young people about an employee's career path and experience.
  2. Form a partnership with a local school and college.
  3. Provide young people with quality work placements.
  4. Employ a Modern Apprentice or trainee.
  5. Become Investors in Young People accredited.
